New Store Samples

I was busy knitting before the Frolic but haven't shared my projects with you. I'm going between writing here and adding them on Ravelry. These are all easy to do and great for summer, not too much thinking, knitting.

Pattern: Ishbel
Yarn: 2 skeins of Mrs. Crosby Hat Box
Colour: Midnight Aubergine
Needles: 5mm
Size: larger size on pattern
Ishbel is a simple shawl pattern that can be worked in two sizes and two different yarn weights. The smaller, fingering weight version makes a cosy but pretty scarf while the larger, lace weight version can be worn as a scarf or draped elegantly around the shoulders. The solid stockinette centre lends simplicity to the design and adds extra warmth when knitted in thicker yarn. Ishbel is edged with a beautiful vine pattern and finished with elegant scalloped points.
If you haven't worked many lace patterns, I highly suggest this one. It is easy to following and there is a lot of stocking stitch so you aren't too overwhelmed following a pattern.

Pattern: Groovy
Yarn: 3 skeins of Mrs. Crosby Carpet Bag
Colour: Smoky Granite
Groovy will knit up as a shawl or large, deep scarf. The design is triangle shaped, has very deep ribs and notches on one side. Can be knit with 4mm needles and DK weight yarns. If you prefer a thicker shawl, use 5mm needles and aran weight yarns. You will need a minimum of 500 meters of yarn for a large scarf and closer to 900 meters for a large shawl. Using more yarn will result in a deeper, larger shawl. This design is quite flexible!

Pattern: Cordwood Cowl
Yarn: 2 skeins of Mrs. Crosby Steamer Trunk
Colour: Golden Butter
Working at a looser gauge than typical for a worsted weight yarn makes for a very quick knit, as well as a soft hand and lightness to the finished piece.
This scarf is simple to knit and versatile to wear. Long enough to double up around the neck for warmth, the circumference may be easily sized up or down by changing the cast-on count by multiples of 8 (yardage requirements will need to be adjusted accordingly).
This pattern is perfect for beginning knitters new to working from charts, or knitting projects in the round. Written instructions are also provided.

Pattern: September Circle
Yarn: 2 skeins of Mrs. Crosby Satchel
Colour: Icebox Watermelon
Skills Needed: knit, purl, yarn over, knit in the round, centered double decreases (defined in pattern)
this pattern uses a self-striping sock yarn and larger needles for a lacy rippled loop scarf. wear it doubled around your neck for extra warmth.
it would also look great in a semi-solid fingering weight yarn like tosh merino light. as written, this pattern uses approx 420 yards.
I used more yarn because I added in more pattern repeats. My cowl is 252 stitches (I think I'm remembering my math on that)

Pattern: in threes
Yarn: 2 skeins of Mrs. Crosby Steamer Trunk for each
Colour: Golden Butter and Roasted Chestnut

Last week I showed a picture of a new pattern coming from Fiona Ellis. My picture wasn't the best. Fiona picked up the sweater on Saturday and had some great pictures taken.

Pattern: Re-Gathering Intentions by Fiona Ellis- available soon on Ravelry
Yarn: Mrs. Crosby Steamer Trunk

Yes, the storms hit last night and Melo was in a bit of a tizzy. He got Roko stirred up as well. I ended up with two dogs in my lap so there was no possible way to knit. Luckily Beth got home just after it started and got them settled.

A newsletter just went out so watch your in boxes. Now I need to get back to my chores in the store.
